JSRI (جسري) means my bridge in Arabic. Since 2020, we have been that bridge for Jordanians and for the global space community. Our mission is to advance sustainable space research, empower local communities, and inspire the next generation to see themselves as part of humanity’s shared future beyond Earth.
In 2021, JSRI held the first space design competitions in Jordan focusing on spacesuit and rover design.
In 2022, we held a space architecture design competition focusing on the development of JSRI's analog habitat in Wadi Rum.
In 2023, our founder became the first Jordanian analog astronaut.
In 2024, JSRI held the first Jordanian analog mission, PETRA-1, in the desert of Wadi Rum.
In 2025, we held the second Jordanian analog mission, PETRA-2, as part of the World's Biggest Analog.
JSRI continues to pioneer the space ecosystem in Jordan, creating opportunities for all.
We invite you to join our mission - from Jordan, to space.
Our work is rooted in partnership with the local Bedouin community of Wadi Rum. Each mission directly supports local livelihoods through the hosting of crews and collaboration with camp owners.
This model for our missions explicitly challenges the predominant paradigm in this field of research, where analog habitats are often built on Indigenous lands without consent or involvement from the local communities.
Together, we are proving that space research can strengthen communities on Earth while preparing for life beyond it.
Our missions are not only about research but about inspiring curiosity and imagination in the next generation. These interactions remind us that the future of space exploration begins on the ground, with the dreams of young people who believe they can make a difference. Through these moments, we aim to plant the seeds of possibility and show that space is for everyone.
